The CF filter is the third and final cartridge which uses a "Natural-Trace Mineralised Carbon Rod" to remineralise the purified water.
Filter Purpose
The Reverse Osmosis technology used to strip away potentially harmful contaminants from water, cannot avoid to also strip away the "good minerals" from it, good minerals that the human body needs.
That's why we decided to add 18 natural mineralized materials in the CF cartridge, to remineralize the water.
These materials are:
• Serpentine
• Sea Pumice
• Calcium Feldspar
• Zinc Spinel
• Bioclastic Tuff
• Hectomorphic Dolomite
• Magnetite
• Wollastonite
• Plagioclase
• Tengchong Volcanic Rock
• Marl
• Kaolinite Ore
• Volcanic Glass Rock
• Tourmaline
• Tianshan Mafic
• Potassium Feldspar
• Porous Basalt
This filter guarantees sweet-tasting alkaline water with a pH of 8-9 that is rich in potassium, sodium, magnesium, and calcium.
While water can be a good source of minerals, we don't recommend relying on it as your only source of minerals.
The human body absorbs minerals and vitamins mainly from food, even though even food quality nowadays isn't so great and even food lacks in minerals. Therefore, if you're serious about your health, we recommend supplementing with additional minerals. For example, you could take multivitamins, (Our favorite are the ones you can find at Bixvitamins.com, Use our code "WEEUP20" at checkout to receive an exclusive 20% discount.)
For more precise mineral supplementation, we suggest consulting your doctor and requesting a blood test to determine which minerals you lack in, so that you supplement with high precision.
Filter life
It is very hard to guess how long this filter last before it needs replacement.
It really depends from the quality of the water at your location.
To give you a rough idea, since we test our cartridges in Perth WA, we can say that these cartridges last from 4 to 6 months on average.
We also highly recommend that you change the CF and PAC cartridges at the same time and not beyond the 8th month regardless of their usage.
Some factors to keep in mind that could effect this filters lifespan are:
1) Water quality at your location.
2) How many people in your household use Hydro.
3) How many litres of water does Hydro filter complessively every day.
4) The raw water temperature which should stay between 5-35°C
Installation instructions
Hydro cartridges are really simple to install and you won't need to pay a plumber or service guy to do it for you; you just need to unscrew them counterclockwise to remove them and clockwise to mount them back in.

Nick made me taste the water from Hydro and then asked me to taste tap water right after, which I drank till then. I never realised how heavy tap water was and how heavy it tasted in my mouth, he also ran a TDS to give me a visual proof of it (it showed something like 400ppm).
